August 17, 2011...... Karen and I went to Canmore and Banff and brought our kickbikes. What an awesome vacation.
We started the trip with a visit with friends in Calgary. An exchange student was visiting from Finland, the home of the Kickbike, and we were interested to hear her comments and excitement about the kickbike. She took it for a spin and well, she was a natural at it. Maybe something in the DNA? Then off to Canmore, home of Canada's Olympic Nordic training. The Nordic centre with it's 6.5km of paved trail was perfect for kickbiking, reaching a top speed of 54km/hr on one of the short steep downhills.
Awesome experience. Thanks to my Garmin 405 for keeping track of speed and distance. This was the warmup day for our adventure to Banff on the following day.

Wascana creek
Just a short ride from downtown Regina. I love the mobility and touring ability I have with my kickbike.

Kickbke to work
Kickbiking is probably the best commuter vehicle invented for metro travel to and from the office. While I take advantage of the showers and changerooms at my office building, there is no need to change out especially on clear and calm days.

Training Day
Kickbiking has been the focus of most of my activity, with a bit of running and mountain biking thrown in for good measure. I am not a fast runner, usually in the 6 min per km category at my race pace. This morning we went for a 11k run, at a moderate pace 8 min per km felt strong and focused. I could definitely feel how the kickbiking has contributed to my leg and core strength. Gameday for Sask. Riders. GO GREEN. Should be an awesome game today.
Cheers, keep on and keep active

New Kickbike shoes
I just bought a new pair of Merrell MOAB Ventilator, these shoes are awesome for kickbiking. They are a lightweight trail / hiker with a vibram sole, great grip on the footbed. These are superior to the cross trainer runners that I've been using up to now. Another awesome day for Kickbiking today, looking forward to a long ride this weekend.
Cheers.

What a cool bike
My wife and I are proud to bring the first 2 kickbikes to Regina, Sask. Not a day goes by that when we are out for a kick (that's what we call it sometimes) that heads turn and we get the look.... LOOK at that cool bike... No its not a bike... Hey what kind of bike is that? It is the best feeling to show off how cool these kickbikes really are. Just cruising... Awesome..
